Time For A New Look

To try and get that summer feeling that we are sadly missing from the weather I decided that Homemade Loves needed a brighter look so I chose this gorgeous design from Shabby Chic Blogs.
I hope it brings a little touch of that summer feeling to your day.

Cake Decorating Part 2

Because I have now finished my present cake my lovely tutor Pat has allowed me to start decorating another cake. I may not get it finished in next weeks final class so I will have to do some work on it at home.

The theme for this cake is a creatures picnic .. this will all become clear when the cake is finished but for now this is what I have for you so far.

Enjoy

Jewellry Storage

I've been trying to come up with some unique ways to store some of my jewellery that is to big to fit into my current jewellry box and have found these beautiful hooks

They are from a company called Bombay Duck and they sell all sorts of shabby chic accessories & furniture. I just love the elegant looks to this hook and I think they will look stunning with some of my beautiful handmade necklaces from Lucy Locket Loves.

It's Been A While

It's been a while since I last blogged. I've been so busy doing all sorts I just haven't had enough hours in the day.

A Cross Stitch Project

Today I started a little cross stitch project. It is a little baby birth sampler which I thought I would have about a month to complete but I found out today that the baby is due in just 2 weeks.

Today I stitched for 4 hours straight and this is the result

Can you tell what it is yet?

1 Week Ago Today

My beautiful baby cat Jelly went to the rainbow in the sky.
She got hit by a car and she had broken her back. I was with her as she passed and I just hope she knew how much we all loved her.

RIP my beautiful Jelly Belly

My Lip Stuff

I don't know about you but this time of year I get awful dry chapped lips and have to dig out many of the lip balms I have in my stash.
Now I have tried every lip balm on the market from Burt's Bee's to vasaline to boot's own brand but they never really suit me. I find them either to drying or to greasy.
But I have now found a company in America that makes lovely lip balms in thosands of different flavours.
There are many wierd but wonderful flavours .. creme brulee, bourbon, strawberries & champagne, plum puddng & candy hearts are just a few of my favourits
Pop over to their website and take a look at the thousands of different flavours. I'm sure you will find I you love.

What A Busy Day We've Had

Well today has been very busy indeed.

M had is 1st swimming lesson at school & I had to be there in the water with him. We both really enjoyed it and M cant wait t start full time school in September and do more swimming.

And while we were away my dad worked hard to build M & L's playhouse and what a great job he has done

M & L were in it even before the roof was on.
Atleast this will keep them quiet for a couple of hours a day.
Now all thats left to do is paint it.

Sugar Paste Antics

Tuesdays are now assigned to a new and very exciting venture for me.

Cake Decorating

Yes the wonderful world of yummy cakes, sugar paste & marzipan.

Last night was the 1st night of the 6 week taster course and this is what I made.

Not much work has go into these as they were just a practice but I'm still impressed by them. The gift tag was been coated with Luster Spray which gives it a marbley satin sheen.

Next week will be icing a real cake .. eek
